EVE Project
WALL-E (2008) is a computer-animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures.

I had the idea of creating a small scene with the Eve character that I modeled before, focusing just on the gun shot moment.
I started modelling this character in blender, following references, then I created a simple rig and animate it.
I then proceeded and create the environment. I wanted to experiment a bit and have her in a more rocky/dry nature spot. A more rocky/sandy look has also been an option while collecting references.
A discrete amount of time went into the creation of the materials, having a slightly complex node setup for some, changing the look also to give the impression that each asset belongs to the scene.
Nothing too fancy here, the only "makeup" was creating a material blend on a ground pile near to the camera using a painted vertex color. Edge blending like but without geometry blending.
For the VFX part, I took the opportunity to practice with Houdini, importing the main beam as a reference for the other simulations.

I paid attention to make an overall scene optimization: LODs - lower poly count and textures size (batch processing) for far away objects, cleaning up scans if need it and proxies use.

MODEL - ANIMAtion

POSTER - variation

This is the first concept of the shot. It's more fantasy looking, it's why I rather went for the second option with rings
